The Business Problem

The Agency uses a Personnel System, written by Systeme Ouvert in VB and Access. Due to new and frequent Government legislation, Personnel Managers required the ability to produce highly customised, ad-hoc reports.

Our Solution

Due to the varying IT skill levels, Systeme Ouvert produced tailor-made Access training sessions for the Agency's Personnel Managers. The training addressed their current reporting problems, using their data, on their system.

The Value

Contrary to the traditional classroom style of training, these bespoke, highly focused problem-solving sessions benefited the Coastguard in two ways. Firstly, Agency staff were trained in Access skills. Furthermore, real reports were actually produced, rather than just the usual course examples.
